Greenock Creek

Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia

Founded in 1984, Greenock Creek Vineyards is known for bold, single-vineyard Shiraz from the western edge of the Barossa Valley. With a commitment to site expression, the winery produces small-batch wines that reflect the unique personalities of each sub-region, from the plush, velvety depths of Marananga to the earthy structure of Seppeltsfield and the aromatic lift of Moppa. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in open-top, poly-coated concrete tanks, with all lots basket-pressed and matured in oak. Every decision in the vineyard and winery is made with precision and restraint to let the fruit and site speak clearly. Greenock Creek’s uncompromising focus has earned the winery eight 100-point scores from The Wine Advocate, a testament to the power, purity and presence of its wines. Since the arrival of Chief Winemaker Alex Peel in 2018, the winery has refined its approach with cooler fermentations, softer pressings, and oak selection tailored to vintage and vineyard. Vineyard health and sustainability have also improved through targeted irrigation and adaptive canopy management. The results are wines with greater finesse, vibrancy and site clarity. At the same time, they remain unmistakably Greenock Creek—full-bodied, expressive, and deeply rooted in Barossa terroir.
