Delatite is a family-owned winery in Victoria’s High Country, crafting wines that reflect their pristine environment and biodynamic philosophy. Since 2005, David Ritchie has led the vineyard using Biodynamic principles, avoiding herbicides and chemicals, and encouraging natural balance in the soil and vines. In the winery, they rely on wild yeast fermentations, no fining or enzyme use, and minimal filtration, producing vegan-friendly wines of purity and individuality. Small-batch winemaking allows each vineyard block to shine, with reds fermented in 1.5–2 tonne lots and whites made block by block. Winemaker Andy Browning and David continue to experiment with exciting small-batch releases such as Hell’s Window (orange wine) and Pet Nat. Their philosophy combines traditional methods with modern precision, delivering expressive, complex wines that showcase their cool-climate terroir and have earned wide acclaim, including consistent praise from James Halliday.
