Ashbrook Estate

Margaret River, Western Australia, Australia

Ashbrook Estate is a family-owned winery in Wilyabrup, the heart of Western Australia’s Margaret River wine region. Established by the Devitt family in 1975, it remains under family ownership and management today, with second-generation owners Carol and Brian Devitt joined by their daughter Catherine Edwards and son Richard. The first commercial vintage was produced in 1979, and the winery has now completed over 40 consecutive vintages. Only grapes grown and handpicked on the estate are used in Ashbrook’s wines. All winemaking, bottling and packaging are done on-site using modern, carefully maintained facilities to ensure full control over quality and consistency. Seventeen hectares of vineyard are planted with classic varieties, producing 150 to 170 tonnes of fruit each year, which translates to around 12,000 to 14,000 cases of premium wine. Extensive use of the lyre trellis system helps maximise sunlight and airflow, enhancing fruit ripeness and varietal character. Sustainability is a priority. All vine pruning and harvesting are done by hand, and composted mulch is applied regularly to maintain soil health and long-term vine quality. Ashbrook focuses on producing a single premium label for each grape variety, with a reputation for elegance, balance and longevity.
