Whispers of Chaos is the debut label from Barossa-born winemaker Marcus Torzi. Raised in a region world-renowned for its wine and produce, Marcus grew up immersed in the culture and community of the Barossa Valley. Now completing his Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Adelaide, he brings both scientific rigour and hands-on experience to his winemaking. Marcus’s approach is guided by a clear philosophy: less is more. His wines are made with minimal intervention, allowing them to speak honestly of their origin. Thoughtful and unpretentious, Whispers of Chaos is a reflection of his deep respect for tradition, his curiosity and his belief in the power of simplicity. What sets this first release apart is the use of Clayver stoneware vessels alongside partial barrel ageing. The Clayver allows for gentle micro-oxygenation without imparting flavour, while the oak adds structure and dimension. Together, they create a layered but pure expression of fruit, complex yet restrained. The first release is a personal milestone: a careful, character-driven red blend that marks the beginning of a journey rooted in authenticity. With Whispers of Chaos, Marcus aims to evolve with intention, staying true to his vision while exploring new ideas grounded in place and purpose.
