Three hours drive from Melbourne, on outskirts of Beechworth in north east Victoria, Hugh and Raquel Jones found their perfect vineyard - and after much due diligence, turned the key to their forever home in 2016. Their first commercial offering of wine was from the 2017 vintage, and they established the ‘Weathercraft’ label. They craft high-quality, hand-made wines sustainably from vines grown with the utmost respect for nature and soil. Raquel says “I’d like to describe my wines as elegant and balanced, with true expression of place. When I’m on the vineyard mid-season, tasting the grapes, I want to capture that purity of fruit in every bottle. I put my heart and soul into growing the best fruit I can; I don’t want un-do what nature has done – I want to honour that fruit.”
