Ridolfi is a historic estate situated on the northeastern slopes of Montalcino, in the Mercatali area, renowned for its ancient markets dating back to the 12th century. The estate encompasses 35 hectares, with 21 hectares under vine, including 13.5 hectares dedicated to Brunello di Montalcino, 6.5 hectares to Chianti Colli Senesi, and 1 hectare to Rosso di Montalcino. Under the guidance of winemaker Gianni Maccari, Ridolfi employs organic and biodynamic practices, emphasizing manual vineyard work and environmental sustainability. The winery utilizes sexual confusion methods to manage pests, applies organic humus, and practices green manure to enhance soil health. A plastic-free approach is maintained across all operations. In the cellar, Ridolfi focuses on traditional techniques, including extended maceration periods of up to 60 days to extract color, aroma, and polyphenols gently. Wines are aged in large Slavonian and French oak barrels, aiming to express the terroir's authenticity. Ridolfi's commitment to quality and tradition has earned it recognition, including being named "Best Emerging Italian Winery" by Gambero Rosso.
