Avignonesi is named after the founding family of the original estate in Montepulciano, Tuscany. In 2009, Virginie Saverys took ownership and began a transformative journey, introducing organic and biodynamic farming practices and expanding the estate’s vineyard holdings and winemaking capabilities. Today, Avignonesi is recognised for producing authentic, terroir-driven wines that reflect the soul of Montepulciano. With a deep respect for the land and its long-standing traditions, the winery is committed to sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing each vintage to express the character of its site and season. At the heart of Avignonesi’s philosophy is a belief in the power of the earth. The vineyards, farmed with care and intention, give life to wines that are elegant, balanced and true to place. Sangiovese remains the cornerstone of the estate’s production, honouring the centuries-old winemaking heritage of the region. Avignonesi continues to shape the future of Montepulciano, crafting wines that celebrate both its history and potential.
